1. What is the SPOBIS?

The SPOBIS is the largest and most important event in Europe for the sports business industry.

Beside a varied and comprehensive stage programme with countless top speakers and experts, our partners from the worlds of technology and digitisation present developments in sport and business of the future.

Numerous side events complement the network and platform concept, and make the SPOBIS the industry meet of the year for all participants – from young professionals to leading decision-makers.

2. Where and when will the SPOBIS take place?

The SPOBIS 2020 will take place at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf on 29–30 January. Kick-off events will be held in Düsseldorf on the evening before (28 January).

3. What are the ticket options and how do they differ?

This time round, we are offering a variety of ticket categories granting access to different areas and stages at the SPOBIS. The ticket price also depends on when you book your tickets – there are a total of four booking periods.

Visit our ticket shop for an overview of the categories and prices along with details of the services included with each ticket type and the booking periods.

4. How can I obtain a ticket?

You can purchase tickets in our ticket shop at any time. Once you have completed your order, we will email you your e-ticket and invoice. Please bring your e-ticket with you to the SPOBIS – either as a printout or on a mobile device.

5. Can I cancel my ticket?

Yes, you can. Please note, however, that a cancellation fee totalling 50% of the ticket price will be retained if you cancel your ticket less than two weeks before the event. The full ticket price will be retained from 15 January 2020.

6. Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

Yes, you can. Simply email events@sponsors.de and advise who the ticket is currently issued to and who it should be transferred to.

7. Do you offer day tickets?

Yes, we do. See here for an overview of all ticket options.

8. Are tickets available for just the evening get-together?

No, they aren’t. You will need a Premium ticket to participate in the get-together.

9. My registration/discount code doesn’t work. What should I do?

10. How can I get press accreditation?

Click here and complete the accreditation form.

11. Can I split a ticket so that one person attends on the first day and another person attends on the second?

No, unfortunately this is not possible.

12. Is a discount available for students?

Please contact brockschmidt@sponsors.de about individual group discounts for students.

13. Where is the check-in?

Please note that there is a new entrance for the 2020 event: CCD Süd. The check-in is also located here.

14. When does the check-in open?

The check-in opens at 2 p.m. on 28 January 2020 and will remain open until around 6 p.m. On the two main event days, the check-in opens at 8 a.m.

15. Where can I find news and updates about the SPOBIS the fastest?

If you have already registered for the event, then we recommend you use our SPOBIS app. It will be activated in early January at the latest. Before this time, we will share news about the upcoming SPOBIS in our SPONSORs newsletter.

16. How can I become a partner, exhibitor or sponsor?

19. Where are the SPOBIS side events held?

The kick-off events on the evening before the SPOBIS starts will be held in various locations throughout Düsseldorf. The Pre-Opener will take place at Seifenfabrik Dr. Thompson’s and the Captain’s Dinner at 20° RestoBar.

Other side events such as the masterclasses, get-together, speed networking and career day will take place at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, like the stage programme.

20. How can I get to the SPOBIS?

The CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf is located near Düsseldorf Airport and is well connected to the public transport network. If you will arrive by car, you can park in car park P3 or P5. Please note that parking fees apply.
If you plan to travel by train, we can offer you a Deutsche Bahn event ticket, which enables you to travel throughout Germany for a fixed price. See here for details.

21. Is there a dress code?

No, there isn’t. The usual smart/business casual is fine.

22. Will Wi-Fi be available?

Yes, there will be a public Wi-Fi network.

23. Will the stage programme be in German or English?

Events will be held in German as well as in English, though German will be the dominant language. We will indicate the event language in our programme planner. In addition, we will be offering interpreting services for all stage events. Please note that no interpreting services will be offered during the masterclasses organised by our partners.

24. Where can I find the full programme?

We will publish the event programme on our website in early December. We recommend you sign up for our SPONSORs newsletter to avoid missing the programme release.

25. Do I have to register for individual programme events?

No, you don’t. You can attend all programme events without registering – as long as you have the right ticket, of course. Please note that the number of places available for the masterclasses is limited to approx. 100 persons per room. You may be denied access if this capacity has been reached.

26. Can I leave the SPOBIS and return again later?

Yes, you can. Just remember to keep your name tag and to show it when you re-enter.

27. Are food and drinks included in the ticket price?

For Premium ticket holders, all meals and drinks are included in the ticket price. Food and drinks will only be available for Business ticket holders in the Business Area. Different food and drinks will be offered in the two areas.

28. What payment options are there for purchasing food and drinks?

You can pay by cash or card.

29. How can I suggest myself or another person as a speaker?
